How I Sequence My Tasks

Emotional mastery isn’t just about willpower; it’s about strategy. While emotions can feel overwhelming, psychology offers practical tools to regain control and navigate them with clarity.

Here is how I sequence my personal and professional tasks in a way that it is most productive.

When I start, I look at the things i needed to do yesterday but they aren’t complete. i.e Pending Tasks.

I will either schedule them or if they are small complete it right there.

Then I try to pick tasks that have wait time in them.

For example:

  • Personal: If I am learning something, there is some wait time after which I can learn again.
  • Work: If I unblock someone or run a CI pipeline, there will be some wait for me before I can work on it again.

This way, I have unblocked and scheduled things to run. Agents can take over.

Agents in this case is my unconsious, CI system, collegue or an AI agent. But mainly I am free.

i.e. I am taking things off my plate into someone elses plate.

I can work on something else in the mean time.

I will do this one task at a time in mono-task fashion. One task, enough completed and scheduled.

This does not include prioritization of tasks.

This is mostly how I like to sequence my tasks.

Assume, I have a list of tasks that I have been doing.
